Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Marrakech – Taznakht – Foum Zguid – Erg Chigaga
Depart early from your hotel or riad in Marrakech and head towards the Atlas Mountains. After passing through Taznakht, renowned for its Berber carpet craftsmanship, continue towards Foum Zguid, the gateway to the desert. From there, venture on to the impressive dunes of Erg Chigaga. Settle into a traditional desert camp, enjoy dinner under the stars, and spend the evening around the fire with local music. Watch a magical sunset over the dunes.

Day 2: Erg Chigaga – M’hamid El Ghizlane – Tamgroute – Zagora
Wake up at sunrise for a camel ride and take in the shifting colours of the desert. After breakfast, drive towards M’hamid El Ghizlane, stopping to meet a nomad family and visit a sacred oasis. Lunch in M’hamid, then continue to Tamgroute to explore its Koranic school and kasbah. Arrive in Zagora at the end of the day for an overnight stay in a comfortable riad.

Day 3: Zagora – Ouarzazate – Aït Benhaddou – Marrakech
After breakfast, set off for Ouarzazate to visit the Taourirt Kasbah, then continue to the famous Ksar of Aït Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where lunch is served. Cross the High Atlas to reach Marrakech in the late afternoon.
